Inspireeriv tõestisündinud lugu väikese Jaapani linnakese keskkooliõpetaja eluaegsest ettevõtmisest luua esimene kunstlikult tolmlev hübriidkirsipuu, et täita lubadus, mille ta andis oma teise maailmasõtta suundunud armastatud õpilastele.

Üritus on korraldatud koostöös Jaapani Fondi ja Jaapani Suursaatkonnaga Eestis.
Jaapani kuu on septembris algav AniMatsuri festivali raames toimuv üritustesari, mis on mõeldud Jaapani kultuuri tutvustamiseks igas vanuses huvilistele. Jaapani kuu hõlmab filmiõhtuid, ettekandeid, kontserte, töötubasid ja palju muud. Üritusi jagub seekord Tartu kõrval veidi ka Tallinnasse.

Japan Month’s movie nights in Tartu continue with “Yoko The Cherry Blossom” (Japan 2015)!

The inspiring true story of a rural Japanese high school teacher’s lifelong quest to create the very first artificially pollinated hybrid cherry blossom, to fulfill a promise he made to his beloved students before they were sent off to the battlefields to fight in World War II.

This event is being organized in cooperation with Japan Foundation and the Embassy of Japan in Estonia.

Japan Month is a series of events that take place for a month starting in September. The aim is to introduce the wonderful culture of Japan to those who are interested in knowing more about the land of the rising sun. There will be different presentations, workshops, movie nights etc. This year we will also be having a few events in Tallinn.
